Block Paving Driveways in Sawbridgeworth

A block paved driveway is a practical and good looking way to sort out parking at the front of a Sawbridgeworth home. The surface is laid over a compacted stone base and held in place with proper edging and jointing sand, so it stands up to vehicles far better than gravel and looks a good deal warmer than plain concrete. Traditional Looks With Modern Performance

Tumbled and aged blocks give you the softened edges and mellow colours of old stone setts, but they are made to a modern specification. That means consistent thickness, frost resistance and enough strength to carry a car every day of the week. It is a good combination in a town with as many older buildings as this one.

You Can Change It Later

Driveways are rarely a finished thing. Widening a drive, adding a path down the side of the house, or lifting a section to run a cable out for a car charger are all far simpler with block paving than with any solid surface. The blocks come up, the work gets done and they go back down.

Not Much To Do To Keep It Looking Good

A rinse or a jet wash every so often, and the odd top up of jointing sand, is about the extent of it. There is no annual sealing, no raking, and no weeds coming through if the base and the joints were done properly in the first place.

  We are really pleased with our new resin and porcelain patio in our garden.  It was finished to a really high standard.  The team, who were very punctual and professional, worked hard and cleaned up really well after themselves when the work was done.  The whole operation was very smooth from Paul initially coming round to discuss the options and provide a quote, to Martin managing the team over the five days that they were there building our new patio.   We approached Amwell to do a design and deliver landscape project for our house.  The work involved stripping the existing area of overgrown trees, lawns and block paving drive from the front and back of our house.  These were replaced with a resin-bound drive , new patio, lawns and beds ready for planting. The design work was carried out by Paul Williams from Amwell.  He is a highly experienced and knowledgeable professional who was able to offer us advice and insights to achieve a better result and avoid costly mistakes.  He was not at all pushy and there was no hard sell.  Perfect. The work was done in less than 2 weeks and to a very high standard.
